GRE (Graduate Record Examination)

Graduate Record Examination aka GRE is the test used by Colleges and universities across US to evaluate students. GRE is conducted by Educational Testing Service(ETS). It is a multiple choice test which tests a students verbal, mathematical and writing abilities. Until, a few years ago GRE was a written examination, but with the recent out reach of cumputer technology, GRE is now computer based and is adminsitered worldwide by ETS.

There are two kinds of Tests

* GRE General Test: It measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study.

* GRE Subject based Test: It gauges undergraduate achievement in eight specific fields of study and can help forecast a candidate's potential for success in graduate school.
